“There was another life I might have had, but I am having this one.”

SNAPSHOT

Hi, I'm Erin Elizabeth Kane (EEK!), the gal behind the camera. I'm a wild-at-heart, fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants, Oregon-based photographer with a passion for curating creative and colorful moments that celebrate families in the outdoors or in the comfort of their homes. I believe life happens in the "in-between." I use my camera to capture life as it unfolds - unstaged, magical, and sometimes messy. I love lattes, the company of a good book, long walks, sunny days, and my jeans, boots, and a t-shirt (yup, I'm a cowgirl at heart).

my story

My childhood was spent with a camera at my hip. Two incredible teachers taught me to find my way around a darkroom, which became a place of refuge and solace. When I was 17, my parents gave me a 35 mm camera and I began to imagine myself traveling the world, working for the likes of National Geographic.

I didn't end up walking that path. Instead I lived the saying, "Think Globally, Act Locally" and became immersed in Portland's nonprofit sector, including managing Straight Shooting, a photography program for gang-affected and marginalized youth. More recently, I've connected people to great causes as a fundraiser for the arts, education, and healthcare.

In 2019, I took the plunge and launched EEK! Photography. When I'm not behind the lens of my camera, you'll find me writing grants for nonprofits. Storytelling is the thread that weaves these two marvelous careers together. I hope you'll invite me to be part of yours.
